From July 9-20 I participated in “Plein Air Easton”, the largest and most prestigious Plein Air competition in the U.S.
It was exhausting and rewarding… I completed 11 paintings in 8 days and received an Honorable Mention at the last event, the Quick Draw . This event was judged by Peter Trippi, the editor of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine.
In addition to the 58 Competition Artists from Plein Air Easton, there were an additional 150 artists competing in the Quick Draw as well… We had 2 hours to finish and frame a painting within a 6 block area. There was a mob scene of onlookers and most of the 200 paintings were sold within an hour.
